External User References

You can pass an arbitrary opaque string (≤ 255 bytes) on init / init-upload to link the registration to your own user record:

{ ..., "external_user_ref": "user-42" }

It is:

  • Echoed back unchanged in webhook payloads (external_user_ref field).
  • Stored in the transaction record so support can correlate by it.
  • Opaque to us — no validation beyond the length cap. We never display it in dashboards or treat it as PII; pick something that makes sense to your system (e.g. your internal user ID, an order ID, etc.).
  • Not propagated on chain — it lives only in the platform DB.

If you need to look up by it later, persist the transaction_idexternal_user_ref mapping yourself when you see the confirm response; there is no inverse-lookup endpoint by design.
